onstar location

Postby smokestarter » May 5th, 2011, 8:48 pm

On 2008 Silverado with LT package, onstar is located behind the lower trim panel. No need to remove the trim panel around the radio, just remove the panel below the steering column and the panel where the ash tray is at. Please note that their are two screws holding both panels on, steering panel has screws on the bottom by brake pedal and ash tray panel has 2 screws on the far left side.

I have a 2008 LT2 Silverado, and my onstar module is in the same location. In the lower panel just below the radio and a/c controls. Easy installation. I wish I had seen this post before taking the dash, radio, a/c, and other parts of the truck apart. 15 minute install time after finding the correct module location.

ON my 2008 2500 HD it was in the same location. I didn't even remove the panel, I just pulled the right corner out enough to disconnect wiring and then tucked the unit in and snapped the trim back in place
