A2DP Streaming

Postby marty45714 » May 29th, 2011, 6:37 am

I just received my new Bluestar module and installed it yesterday. I attached a permanent USB cable and Stereo Mini Headphone cable to it, ran it through the holes in the ashtray and tucked it safely in the ashtray. I can now connect to USB or use the headphone jack on demand. If you need a beta tester for A2DP, I'm your man! I really need this feature. This was the main reason I purchased the module. Please bring us the A2DP feature soon!

I just today got word from the bluetooth module mfg that I should have some beta code for this early next week. They have been struggling to add the streaming capability in while maintaining the cvc (echo cancellation). They figured out that if they only enabled audio streaming in the one direction (from cell to module) and some other protocols that we dont use, they can make it fit. I've also asked them to include AVRCP and PBAB which they say should also fit. AVRCP is remote control over the streaming so you can FF, REW, pause, play the music from the steering wheel or mirror buttons. PBAB is phone book access so you can see caller name instead of just number on DIC.

These additions will really improve the bluestar and I hope to be able to implement them all in the near future. I will post something looking for a few beta testers. You will have to upgrade both the core processor and the DSP. We are working on integrating the DSP programmer into the CPU, but its proving to be quite a challenge.

Will keep all posted here.
Thanks for your patience!
